The Antioch Writers' Workshop's primary activities are held at
the Glen Helen Auditorium, a wonderful building set within the
1,000-acre nature preserve known as Glen Helen. Right out the
front door you can take a trail and hike through woods to limestone
cliffs, waterfalls, and quiet streams. It's just a short way to
the natural, curative spring for which Yellow Springs is named.
The Village of Yellow Springs, home to Antioch College, boasts
a thriving downtown of shops and restaurants, and is a center
of cultural, political and personal expression. It's also home
to many artists and writers, many of whom are involved in the
workshop.
The Little Miami Scenic
Bike Trail runs through the Village, providing a lovely path for
walking, jogging, skating, or biking. For more hiking and camping,
Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve and John Bryan State Park
are nearby. Yellow Springs is located 30 minutes from the Dayton
Airport, and about one hour from the Columbus and Cincinnati airports.
Workshop volunteers are available to provide transportation to
and from the Dayton Airport.
