7th Annual Fall Retreat Fall, 2018 (Specific Dates to be Determined)
Do you yearn for a get-away to focus on your work-in-progress, in an inspiring yet restful setting, while receiving guidance from writing and publishing professionals, so you can return home re-charged and ready to take the next steps on your creative writing path? If so, our 7th Annual Fall Weekend Writers' Retreat may be just what you need!
WHO may attend? This retreat is designed for writers who have works of fiction (short stories or novels) or essay(s)/creative nonfiction either complete or in progress and who wish to focus on revising/completing this work and identifying next steps on their writing paths. Up to FIFTEEN writers will be selected from applicants. (See "How to apply" at bottom of this page for details.)

WHERE will the retreat be HELD? This event will be held at the Bergamo Retreat Center. Participants will stay in a private dorm style room with a private bathroom.

WHAT is the SCHEDULE for the retreat and WHAT will participants DO? Friday
2:30 p.m.--Arrive, check in, settle in, get acquainted, write!
post dinner--Creative writing exercises, small group discussions and one-on-one consultations
9:00 a.m.--Write on your own, drawing on the creativity starters and feedback received on Friday evening/one-on-one consultations as pre-scheduled.
After lunch until dinner--small group discussions/one-on-one consultations as pre-scheduled.
Post dinner--participant readings; small group discussions
Post Breakfast--Write on your own, participate in small group discussions and one-on-one consultations as pre-scheduled
@2:00 p.m.--Depart to return home and apply inspiration, motivation and momentum gained at retreat to your own work-in-progress!
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FOOD: All meals listed above are included in the retreat price. Participants are welcome to bring their own food for specific dietary needs or to have personal snacks.
So... if I'm SELECTED, WHAT will this COST? Cost is $450.00 TOTAL and includes two nights lodging at Bergamo, all food as described above, and instruction/guidance by retreat leaders. Transportation to and from Bergamo is not included and must be arranged by participants.

Your application will need to include the following two documents::
a one-page cover letter providing your name, contact information (address, email, phone), and a paragraph or two about where you are on the writing path (what you're working on) and why you want to attend this retreat.
a writing sample: between 5 and 10 double spaced pages of creative nonfiction OR fiction
PLEASE NOTE: Up to FIFTEEN applicants will be selected by Antioch Writers' Workshop. Applicants MUST be over 21 years of age. Applicants will receive notification of acceptance or decline shortly thereafter. PLEASE NOTE: Due to volume of applications anticipated, Antioch Writers' Workshop cannot provide feedback on submitted pieces about why application might be declined.
WHAT happens NEXT if I am ACCEPTED to the FALL 2017 RETREAT? After notification of acceptance, you will be invoiced $450.00 for the fall retreat. This will be due DATE TO BE DETERMINED. $125.00 of this fee is STRICTLY NONREFUNDABLE; after DATE TO BE DETERMINED, the entire amount is STRICTLY NONREFUNDABLE (because by that date, it will be too late to consider those applicants who have been wait-listed.) You will receive a detailed email by DATE TO BE DETERMINED (driving directions, check-in procedures, items to bring, etc.) about the retreat.
